IIFT 2017 Notification, Eligibility and Syllabus




Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi is one of the top B-schools in India established by the Government of India (Ministry of Commerce & Industry). The institute conducts admission to its flagship MBA in International Business (MBA-IB) through the IIFT Entrance Exam. IIFT entrance exam is taken by around 60,000 candidates vying for 350 seats in the institute’s Delhi, Kolkata and kakinada (AP) campuses.

IIFT 2017 Notification

 The IIFT exam 2017 will be held on the 26th (Sunday) November 2017. Aspirants can start applying from July 25, last date of the applying form is 8th September 2017. The admit card of IIFT 2017 will be made available to only those candidates who have successfully registered for the management exam and made the necessary fee payment. The admit card of the entrance exam will be made available on November 15, 2017.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) exam is the written entrance test for two-year MBA (International Business) programme at IIFT. The test is conducted in November for two hours and consists of 200 multiple choice questions.

Eligibility 

IIFT applicants should be graduates in any discipline of minimum three years duration from a recognised institute or university. Final year graduation students can also apply.


Syllabus

It tests a candidate’s aptitude in the following areas:
• English Comprehension
• General Knowledge & Awareness
• Logical Reasoning
• Quantitative Analysis


  Quantitative Aptitude

                           Most of the common topics that dominate this section are – Number system, Co-ordinate Geometry, Triangles, Spheres, Alligation& Mixtures, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Partnership, Maxima & Minima Progression, Median, Mode, Time-Speed-Distance, Profit & Loss, Work and time, Clocks, Mensuration, Algebra, HCF, LCM, etc.


 Verbal Ability

                             Most of the common topics in this section are – Analogies, idioms, mania & phobia, Syllogisms, Errors in word choice, Conditionals & Multiple Usage, Phrasal verb, Fill In the Blanks, Verbal Reasoning, Antonyms, one word substitution, odd one out, Punctuation, Contextual usage, Jumbled paragraphs with 4 or 5 sentences, Comprehension of passage, Foreign language words used in English, etc.

   Logical Reasoning

                              Most common questions that can be found in this section are – Statements and Conclusions, Identifying Probably true, Matrix arrangements, identifying valid inferences , Probably false, Assumption-Premise-Conclusion, identifying Strong arguments and Weak arguments, Symbol Based problems, definitely false kind of statement, Family tree problem, Linear arrangements, Sequencing, Critical reasoning, Statements and assumptions, Visual reasoning, Assertion and reasons, etc.
     
 General Awareness

                                This section needs to be developed with time. One must follow the daily developments in political, economic, sports, etc. arena within the nations and world. Candidates must follow the newspapers daily. The cutoff for this section is low, therefore candidates can simply answer the number of questions to clear the cutoff. A candidate attempting around 18 – 20 questions with 80% accuracy can easily clear the cutoff scores. One of the plus points about this section is that there are a lot of matching the column questions. Here, for each answer option, there are multiple combinations, thus, helping the candidates in eliminating the options.
