Introduction of NMAT by GMAC 2017


INTRODUCTION OF NMAT BY GMAC 2017
The first MBA entrance exam is NMAT by GMAC 2017. The test taking window of NMAT began on 7th October and the exam is conducted this year by GMAC.

 The score of NMAT is accepted by renowned management Institutes such as NMIMS, Xavier University, MISB Bocconi, ICFAI Business school, VIT University, Amity & SRM etc. The best thing about NMAT is that its pattern and structure have been provided by the test takers and there is no deviation in the actual exam. The candidates can write NMAT three times and can send the best of the three scores to NMAT Participating Colleges.

VERBAL ABILITY SECTION

Verbal Section is overall moderate section, but time is less as compare to questions.  considering the limited time, one should leave the RC passages to the end as at least one of them is expected to be moderately challenging. Vocabulary would help high score here.

Questions in this section appear from core grammar topics like usage on Parts of speech, tenses, conditionals, modifiers. The RC passages are short and doable. Jumbled paragraphs, synonyms-antonyms also appear in this section. This section with 32 questions has to be solved in 22 minutes.

Accuracy is the key in verbal as in the last 3 years the level has been easy to moderate. You can build speed at this level; accuracy becomes the main parameter for success then. Attempt at least 100 tests on Verbal, apart from the full mocks. Remember, clear your doubts and build appropriate mistake patterns in mind before you attempt the next test.

QUANTITATIVE ABILITY SECTION

 This section consisted of Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency and Quantitative Aptitude questions.  In this section questions ask moderate to difficult level and all questions are basis on the time management. Overall this is a moderate section with DI being calculative intensive.

 Major part in this section remains moderate however a few questions are asked in a different manner and are rated as more time consuming if not very difficult. Number system, PnC, Algebra, Mensuration, Geometry are the prominent topics in this section.  This section has 48 questions and has to be solved in 60 minutes.

3. Practice Data Sufficiency

The best strategy in this section would have been to maximize the score from Quant and then look for some easy questions in DI.

LOGICAL REASONING SECTION 

LR in NMAT by GMAC has a mix of Verbal and Critical Reasoning as well as Decision making questions. The question emerged from topics like family tree, numerical grid, coding, series, direction sense, syllogism, arrangements. Time allotted to all the 40 questions in this section is 38 minutes.

In Logical Reasoning Section Most of the questions are tricky and time consuming. Logical reasoning tests generally non-verbal content, need candidates to interpret and manipulate shapes, numbers and patterns. The logical reasoning tests are designed to measure the ability of the contenders to draw the logical statement or arguments.
