Xavier Labour Relations Institute, widely known as XLRI was founded in 1949 by Fr. Quinn Enright s.j. in the Steel City of Jamshedpur. XLRI is a Jesuit managed school and is not only India's oldest B-school but also one of the oldest B -schools of the world. XLRI started off by offering courses for management and trade unions in 1949.

Eligibility for PGDM (BM, GM, HRM)
Candidates require minimum 50% aggregate mark in graduation in any discipline from a recognized institute. The candidates from SC, ST, OBC and DA category need an aggregate of 45% marks. Final year graduation students can also apply provided they can submit the graduation final marks to the institutes within the requisite schedule.
Eligibility for PGDM (GMBA)
• Candidates who have completed the Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline, recognized by a University or Deemed University, are eligible to apply.
• Preference will be given to candidates with 3 or more years of relevant work experience.
Admission Process
To procure admission in XLRI, one has to take XAT, which is the computer based examination for XLRI admissions. Consequently, he/she will be called for the mains stage which consists of group discussions and personal interviews based on the percentile obtained in XAT.

XLRI Jamshedpur has concluded Placement 2017 with average salary at Rs.19.21 LPA in the batch of 359 students. The average salary in placement 2017 at XLRI stood at Rs.19.21 lakhs per annum as against 18.5 lakhs per annum. The highest salary has gone up to Rs.43 lakhs per annum.
The batch size of 359 students received offers from 139 companies of which 42 were first time recruiters. According to XLRI, the number of new roles increased by 17 per cent as compared to last year.
